Molecular profile
NAD+ (nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide, oxidised form; nadide) is a small-molecule dinucleotide coenzyme, not a peptide. It consists of an adenosine and a nicotinamide ribonucleotide joined through a pyrophosphate bridge, occurs in all living cells, and cycles between the oxidised (NAD+) and reduced (NADH) forms.
NAD+ is the principal hydride acceptor in glycolysis, the TCA cycle and mitochondrial oxidative metabolism. It is also consumed as a substrate by sirtuin deacylases, poly(ADP-ribose) polymerases (PARPs) and cyclic ADP-ribose synthases such as CD38, which link cellular NAD+ availability to signalling and gene regulation. Research applications include dehydrogenase enzyme assays, studies of NAD+ biosynthesis through the salvage (NAMPT) and de novo pathways, sirtuin and PARP signalling, mitochondrial–nuclear communication and cellular energy homeostasis in cell-culture and rodent models.
Supplied as a sealed, lot-numbered vial with a lot-matched Certificate of Analysis (HPLC purity and MS identity).
